About Us

Airbase is solving a problem that every medium and large business has. The company was founded by a successful entrepreneur who recently sold his first company for $115M. Other team members have joined Airbase from high impact roles at companies like Twitter and InMobi. We've not launched publicly, but already have a number of well known companies as customers and a strong pipeline of new customers. Airbase is based in San Francisco, and we're building a product and engineering team in Bengaluru, India.

About the Job

We're looking for a strong generalist engineer who can contribute to our initial product, which is a web application. Our preferred stack is Python/Django and Java on the backend and React/Javascript on the front-end. This is an opportunity to have a big impact and get lots of ownership. We're looking for someone who thrives in the very early stages of a company and is self driven.

Responsibilities:

- Deliver features in an end-to-end manner: technical design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance. 
- Participate in product discussions, taking ownership and initiative. 
- Work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

- At least 3 years experience developing web applications in a professional setting. 
- Must have an excellent understanding of how the web works. 
- Familiar with Python, Django, JavaScript, React.
- Familiar with modern engineering practices: code reviews, continuous-deployment, automated testing. 
- Must be willing to constantly learn new things. 
- Passionate about joining a small team and building a company.

Nice to haves:

- A history of working on side/hobby projects and contributing to open source projects is a plus. 
- You've built backend services in Java. 
- You've worked at a startup before.

We offer competitive cash compensation and very attractive equity (this AngelList post has wide ranges, but it really depends on your experience and skill). We prefer someone located in Bengaluru. But, the entire team works remotely and we're open to making an exception for candidates from other locations in India if they have the right skills and experience.
